Leaderboards
- How do you collect your information?
The information you see is collected from the poker rooms' website. We put this together on PokerMTT, showing the current standings, and ranking the players accordingly.
- What tournaments do you track?
All the MTTs that award tournament leaderboard points on the rooms for which we currently collect data. Some poker rooms do not count certain tournaments if they are under X amount of players, or some other stipulations. Please check the specific room's page for complete details.
- How do you determine the points and position of the players?
The points and position on the leaderboards vary from room to room. 1,000 points on one poker room may be a lot, but compared to another wouldn't even make the top 10. All rooms have their own formula for awarding points. Please view the specific room's page to see exactly how points are awarded to the players.
- How often are the leaderboards updated?
Most rooms are updated daily, however some rooms may update weekly. Please check the specific room's page for details.
- Do you only keep track of the top 10 players for each leaderboard?
No, you can view many more positions on the room's page. For example, Full Tilt Poker's leaderboard shows the current top 250 places, but only the top 10 are featured on the homepage.
- How far back do your leaderboard archives go?
This varies from room to room, but most data goes back to early 2008.
Player Rankings and Profiles
- How do you determine the rankings of each player?
Player rankings may be different than their current position on a leaderboard. This is because our rankings are based on consistency. For example, if Player A was in the number 1 spot on the PokerStars Monthly Leaderboard for 18 of the last 30 days, but had a stagnant week he may fall down in position on the leaderboard. However, he may still be ranked number one according to PokerMTT because rankings are based on past and present results, which focus more on the long term.
- What information will I find in the player profiles?
Here you can find the player's current position, which is updated daily, and archives of past history. You can also see how often they made the top 10, dates they held the number one spot, and changes in position over time.
